504 ih idiot light/alternator

O.K. For my Dentist friend just bought a 504 ih. Factory generator and idiot light. Wants to go to a one wire alternator, that part is easy BUT is there a way not to have to mount a ampmeter. Can we keep and make work the idiot light.. I think I have see this on here before.

Not with a one wire. A three wire will work well (and has really only one added wire to the idiot light). The idiot light must get 12v when the key is on. From the idiot light go to the #1 terminal of the Delco 10SI. From the alt #2 Terminal go to the alt big output stud. I use a fuse link at the starter terminal where the alt big wire attaches. Jim
