Round bale feeder

I spotted a round bale feeder in a picture on the internet, some time back. I believe the feeder is made in the USA.

It was painted yellow and red and had a tubing funnel inside an outer frame to prevent hay wastage. I would like to know the manufacturer if anyone can help.

I have a welding shop and I designed a bale feeder with 6 sides, using 4x4s that fit into brackets for each of the 6 "corners". I put the idea on hold because I didn't have an accurate way to bend the angles. I do now and might work on it again in the future.

make the cows clean up waste...i thot mine were wasting alot until we started getting these droughts real regular...they cleaned up around the hay rings real good when they got hungry...i been waiting a extra couple days between hauling hay out and they been eating more of that hay on the ground...plus it gives the calves something warmer to lay on.

Try googling "round bale feeders" and you should be able to find one. There is a new one (new to me) that I just found a few weeks ago that uses a chain cradle to hold the round bale insteasd of a "funnel".

If it was yellow, it was probably this one made by <a href="http://www.siouxsteel.com/index.php/product-detail/closed-bottom-hay-max">Souix Steel</a>. I think they have a copyright on yellow

Anyway, there are several brands of them. My neighbor has some that are cream colored, but I can't remember the name. He was trying to sell them, because he wasn't impressed with their ability to save hay. Also, I think they are a pain to move compared to the standard ones.

I stick to the lightest ones I can find because they are heavy enough for me to move around already. I can't imagine trying to pry a heavy one like that out of the frozen poo. Also, you can't just stick them on a round bale on your loader and drive off for whiter pastures like you can with a regular ring-type.
