Funny, how most of NJ looked like that way back when, I worked on some large site jobs from places like Wharton, up north, to many in Monmouth and Ocean counties, and remember the demolition of old barns, silos etc., never liked what we were doing to the land, some of the job sites were once beautiful farms.

I worked outside of Morristown on a few jobs, one in Mendham, off Washington Valley Road, and another site job not too far away over at the Abbey Delbarton school for girls, the scenery around those jobs were incredible, so is the money in those places. Far Hills and the road you take a left on, in Mendham, that takes you to Far Hills, and connects with another road at the end, is something to see, ATT Mooreland Farms, is something to see, so is the back roads from Morristown, on the east side of 287, to Basking Ridge where I lived, farms are beautiful, mostly horses, people never see what NJ really is, cause they judge it from the NJTPKE, GSP, 80 etc. I remember so many nice places and farms north NJ in sussex had some nice farms we hauled gravel off of one to a site job in Wharton, was a highway that kind of parallel's 80, so many places I've been, I can't recall exactly how to get back to them again, developers have run rampant on NJ, especially K Hovnanian.

Gorgeous pictures as always Larry. I see in the 2nd picture a tall (about 8 feet) game fence. Wonder if they are trying to keep something in, or out?

It looks really nice, we have snow and ice on the road now but it may melt soon. I am often amused by people in special bike suits, especially when I pass them when I'm carrying a load and they're not.

Nice.....

You'd have a ball over here...You can damnear cover the whole country on bicycle paths (paved or gravel mostly).....

you remember the stone wall along that road leading to the moreland farms? That is a nice site,it is still there, and a lot of the big estates are still there,

Never been to N.J. but I see all the jokes about your state are nonsense. Looks very nice where you're at. Thanks for the pictures.

I have a six mile paved bike trail adjoining my back yard. I see by your post the snooty A/holes are not just here. You're right, the pretty boys with their gay apparel are too good to speak to us riff-raff on cheap bicycles. I speak loudly anyhoo just to p!ss them off. TDF

Larry,

Every time I see your handle it makes me think of Steiner's Tractor Parts in Michigan!! ("Stiners" corner!)

As I have stated before, Larry, I always enjoy your photos. And these "new generation" bicycle riders don't realize that you probably enjoy your ride more than they, because you didn't have to load your credit card to buy just the right bike and all that equipment.

Hey Larry, have you ever thought of producing a calendar with some of your pictures? If you do, I'd sure like to buy a couple of them, Great pics as always. Keith

I'm a Farmall restorer, a Massey-Ferguson guy, and a bike rider for manyyears. I'd recommend you at least try a lighter-weight bike. My real old steel Schwinn weighs about 40 lbs., and the newer bike i got weighs 22 lbs. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Makes the ride much better.
I even trial-rode a carbon frame bike at the bike shop, and altho I would never wear all the poly fluorescent clothes, Spandex and all, man I might try a carbon frame. the older i get (now 67) the heavier those steel frames get.

That's funny, those kinda people are just excersise nuts, they don't even pay attention to anything around them. They only care about burning carbs! Lol, nice pics.
