another autolite plug ??? cross reference....

any parts store folks or just someone smarter than me.....

tried on the net to find an autolite match to an NGK D7ea (or DR7ea) with no luck. Can someone help me out, or could it be that there just isn't a match?

Also,
is there a noticeable advantage/dis advantage to resistor/non resistor plugs in my Quad (Yamaha 250)?

Here ya go. NGK DR7EA crosses to Autolite 4163 and XS4163DP, the latter being an Iridium plug.

Using resistor plugs shouldn't hurt your performance. Not using them might make you even less popular with your neighbors.

Dave , A cross reference sould be available from a parts store. If not. I'll research it for ya. Now a helpful bit of information. When you get the plug, use a volt ohm meter(set to continuity)put prong on treaded side, other point in cable to the electrode (center of the plug with out touching the pointer on the threaded side.) look at the resistance reading different from plug to plug.We place the lowest resistor reading to the farthest plug from the distributor.Current flow is stronger and better for each cylinder. We have found(NEW PLUGS) that showed nothing. Bad plugs from factory source. Parts store couldn't believe it ,even when they took one from the shelf to check. we clean and re-gap a lot of plugs and re-check em with the meter, Saves a lot of dough. Only thing after cleaning em is to BLOW OUT THE PLUG so no sand gets deposited ed in the engine.HTH Regards LOU.

The unbelieveable part is I already have 3 on hand.... My memory is really starting to concern me.... Bought new tires for the frt of the quad a couple years ago, misplaced them, found them, took them to the neighbor kid to mount sometime. He had to fix the motor and some lights and I was gonna take him the tires to put on but couldn't find them.... Went to pick up the quad and it had new tires on frt.... Aggravates the hell out of me.....

Not specific, but some plugs have air gap and will not give ohmeter reading. Dave
