JD 7000 planter

Need a small corn planter to plant some sweet corn, food plots etc. Dad had a JD 7000 6 row with no-till coulters, that I wish he wouldn't have sold. It was clean, and sharp. Anyway, I found a 4 row sitting in the weeds of an old farm house. No fertilizer boxes, and faded out. Set up for wide rows. Haven't seen it up close, but did contact the owner. I have two questions: Can no-till coulters be added to this planter without modification? What would be a price range on this thing, since it hasn't moved for several years?
Thanks

no more than a 1 or 2 grand. and thats even pushing the limits. i have one and i love it 4 row. i need a 6 row now. a good working one would be about $3000-3500 tops. if i got a 6 row id sell you mine.

No till coulters will bolt right on with the right brackets.

You may end up spending more for the coulters than the planter.

I'm in central Oh , neighbor has a 4 row wide with with no-till coulters he would sell cheap . He used it last spring . He is not going to grow any more corn . He drove his F2 gleaner over the other day after he finished shelling the corn and said junk it .

before thinking about coulters think about getting it in shape to plant. If plateless the meters may need to be rebuilt after setting if you can find them. New meters are also available.

i have a 6 row 30" planter 7000 plate planter that i think i may part out cheap and junk the rest. i am in south east indiana, if needed let me know.

For a small amount I would consider buying 4 used coulters off a white or IH planter(any coulter will work even plow coulters) We then bought yetter coulter brackets and mounted our coulters on the fertlizer bar up front. We do 20-30 acres notill a year like this and it works good and we have less than $200 invested in parts.May not be good enough for late planting in hard ground.

If it is an early production 7000 you will have to drill the 4 holes to mount the heavy coulters with, if you put the heavy ones on it is recommended to put the heavy down-pressure springs on at the same time. JD offered what the called "minimum tillage" coulters to mount on the units that did not require the 4 holes in the front of the units. Dale
