I know this question is redecilous but....looking through the operators manual I don't see where engine oil should be added. I see a lubrication diagram and it indicates a "oil filter breather cap"that should be clean and olied. I find easily the oil filter and also see the drain plug, but no indicator where oil is to be added. If it is to be filled through the oil filter breather cap location, once the cap is removed there is a plate benith the cover with a with threaded stud that attaches the cap to the breather tube. Where is the oil added to the engine?

Would you believe that if you leave the wing nut on the breather cap and pull up on it the whole piece comes off and you can then pour the oil in. Of course your may no longer have the wing nut and just have a nut there but either way just pull up on the assembly and you will have an open tube direct into the oil pan

I wonder if your operator's manual actually says, "Oil fiLLer breather cap" instead of "oil fiLTer breather cap"?
