Some of you might remember that my boy left for Marine Corps Recruit Training back at the end of August. Well he graduates Wednesday so we are headed down to see the graduation and pick him up for ten days of leave. Probably won't be back by Thursday so everyone have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving and God bless.

Enjoy it.... And make sure he enjoys it safe. He belongs to all of us now.

Don't go lookin for the kid you sent away a couple months ago.

Thanks, Dave

(quoted from post at 06:42:32 11/21/11) You are right Dave, I told my wife the same thing
last night.

Mom can do whatever she wants.you're the one that'll have to behave yourself
Happy Thanksgiving and remember that those 10 days are too short for mom to spend one of them cooking...

Don't know if I would admit having a Marine in the family.Just a thought from an old Navy vet.

But glad he made it through boot camp. Don't let your wife hug him to death. You are not getting back to same person that left. Tell him high for me and welcome to the world of vets. Enjoy the ten days as much as you can. He may not be home for awhile.

He will not be the boy that went away,HE is a Marine now.Once a Marine aways a Marine.Shake his hand for all of us in the U S OF A.

You guys really hold a grudge..... Was it so traumatic for the swabbies to be dance partners at the marine balls???? I'd think that they woulda been real gentlemen and treated you as respectable ladies

All the recruits will look the same. He will walk right up to you before you recognize him. If you think he will be all pumped up and muscles -in reality he will be thin as a rail.Take in the museum before you leave its nice.

Yea he will need to catch up on his sleep then he will be bored and looking to hang out with the guys he just went through with so much with.

First off, Congrats to you & your wife for raising a youngin that would take on the job, and congrats to him for making it through.

Second, fix extra food for Thanksgiving and stand back......

My next brother finished boot camp right before Thanksgiving also, back in 1976. He got home the evening before the big feed. When we sat down to eat, I think half the food ended up on his plate, and it was gone in about 2 minutes. I've never seen anyone pile food so high or eat so fast since. We were in awe, we were just sitting there watching slack jawed when he finished.

We had 8 kids in our family, mom and dad and grandpa & grandma were there, plus an aunt. We had plenty of food, nobody went hungry, but man did he eat.

Enjoy your time together, it'll go fast.

Tim

THANK HIM FOR SERVING AND PROTECTING HIS COUNTRY

We had to go to San Diego when my son graduated from Marine boot camp ONE OF THE PROUDEST DAYS OF A PARENTS LIFE

God Bless him, you as parents for raising a patriot, and God Bless the USA

Congrats! My oldest son is at The Citadel right now, hoping to graduate in a few years and serve a career in the USMC. That's all he's ever wanted to do.

Congrats on such a level headed son. Please tell him THANKS for all of us vets who have been there. We know the old country will be safe with young men like him working to protect it.

Tell him thank you from a proud Marine parent ! You will not recognise him, looks or manners . From boy to Marine ,quite a big step .
