Got the truck started finally was the engine control fuse I check all the fuses but must have missed that one or something then was concentrating on fuel pump fuse least it"s fixed and cheap at that thanks to all that helped

well i have change lots fuses that were just bad old but i would bet it probably wont happen again though i probably keep a couple extra ones in glove box just for fun beside they dont weigh to much. then if it keeps blowing the same fuses then its time to go deeper into the problem.

As previously posted, something has probably caused the fuse to blow. I presume by engine control it's the ECM fuse. That narrows down the search to mostly under hood components. Check wiring for places it has rubbed through. I look for anything out of the ordinary like no wiring conduit or wires hanging down rubbing on a shield or manifold. Basically you are looking for a short to ground. I have found a couple near the transmission where the front driveshaft rubbed through a wire over time causing an intermittant dying condition. They can be frustrating after a while for the owner and the technician. I advise taking the time now to start the methodical search. In addition, let the truck run and wiggle the harnesses one at a time and you might get lucky and the truck will die. You might also contact Ford for possible TSB's on the subject or look it up on-line. If you do it, be a detective and give a careful eye to all wires individually after you rule out obvious issues like rubbing through on a heat shield. Hope this helps. Gerard

I've been through a lot of the wiring harness the last 2 days trying to figure out why it wouldn't start all the trouble started when I unhooked the batteries to change starter I'm hoping the batteries just arced enough to blow the fuse or the fuse was just plain wore out time will tell if it keeps blowing then I'll look deeper this is an 02 truck most likely original fuse
