TD15C IH bought from a closed shop sitting for years with engine taken apart.Bought it and put it back together and ran great.Used it about 20 hrs. total around farm then started to run hot.Long story short the radiator was stopped up inside. We took it out, unbolted the top and rodded out ourselves(long dip stick). Bought gasket material from radiator shop.Put it back together yesterday and ran it, No overheatage.
Apparently sitting so long the top of the radiator(steel)rusted badly as many of the flues had chunks of rust stopping them up.
Nothing important just a new experience for me. Glad to have it operating again.

RBnSC,

Congratulations on your success. You obviously have serious skills that enabled you to do this that few people have.

Hope your bulldozer is successful for many years to come.

Glad you got the tractor going again. From experience it is a good feeling to see the temp guage stay where it should. I need to do this also on my AC model M when it starts to heat. What I found is it will happen again. I think the crud comes from inside tha block also. The long dip stick is a good idea, that is what I use. Stan

I remember the pictures that you posted when it was still in the sellers yard, and thinking at the time that it looked like a VERY big job.
