Yesterday we spent installing a Cat because someone had replaced it with an eliminator pipe (too derned loud!).

Geeze! And now I'm freeing up a silly binding window motor.

I know; I gotta get a life!

To me what you are doing is a life. You have a profession, Music, you have a hobby Farm/ranching, You have a avocation Fixing stuff, and are happy. Holysmoke, that is enough! Jim

What most of us on this forum have in common is each of us is running a museum.

Personal rant: Just crossed the threads in the perfectly good tie rod end that screws onto the power steering cylinder rod on the 1086 after a very easy job of replacing the trunions and bushings. It's about the same vintage as your pickup, Allen. Jim

Someone commented that Music was your profession?
Wow... I might have to go the solo route too! There"s days the kid at McDonald"s crushes my income both with the day job and sometimes with the music...

You"re going to make a career out of fixing that Chevy, Allan!(Grin) It started out with ball joints.
May as well get it out of your system now. Winter"s on the way and you"ll be plowin" snow and feedin" cows soon enough. Besides it"s inside work and no heavy lifting!

(quoted from post at 14:37:50 11/11/11) You installed a cat? That thing's gonna really purr by the time you're done with it.

Works well with a mouse or a rat under the hood..... :D

Probably right!! Most of us have been wrenching on this old stuff way too long to quit now! Took my granddaughter, age 8, to town in my truck. First time she realized it had manual windows, she'd never been in anything that didn't have electric. We spent the rest of the ride cranking the window up & down!
