There was a show on CMT last night called Trick My What?. One of the Duke cousins went out and got somebodys everyday user Farmall 140 right out of the field in the guise of restoring it for him so it would be more dependable.
They took that thing in,cut the front spindles and added 7 inches of height so now if he breaks a spindle,he's skrewd. Then to compensate, they took off the 24 inch rears and put 38s on it on custom wheels, and as far as I could tell, they didn't do anything to the transmission or rearend to compensate for the added speed of the bigger tires. The guy acted better about the whole fiasco than I would have. I'm afraid I'd have had a gun to their heads til they fixed it.

Been talked about before on here with a wide range of negative comments. Some pointed out the problems with the spindle mod and others about the paint and overall looks. But if you paid attention the guy is veggie farming 160 acres and has 3 point implements. I don't really think that is his primary tractor and he got a lot of free advertising for is operation. Adn at least it looks better than the Fooze JD!

Whats real about a reality show?

I suspect these 'reality' type shows have a lot less surprise to the owners than we are led to believe. You don't build a house for someone, or remodel a cherrished car or truck or tractor, without a little bit of agreement & cooperation from the actual owner. I doubt there is much surprise?

show how backwards I am..... the farmer looking for a wife here had a girl from our area on there. Watched the show on monday (she'd just started her week shacking up with the farmer) and was in a shoe store tuesday and she walks up and asks to help me.I may be backards but ain't real slow..... said nope, already got a wife but you can help me find some nice shoes.... Asked her the expected WTF and she said the show was done several weeks before but she wasn't aloud to discuss it until the series was over........ guess it didn't work out tho. Saw her at the feed store a while back hangin on a local yeehaw.....

This reminds me of the time I went to visit my Grandmother. The B&W TV was on and Lucy was chaseing a fly, Grandma was up in the floor with a Flyswat helping Lucy. When She saw me she started laughing. I forgot it was TV she said!

Did it look like this??

Only in that it sat up that high when they got done. Other than that,it looked like you'd expect something to look like after it was customized by a bunch of long haired hippies.
I'll bet the one in the picture at least had the gearing changed. Not to mention having a generator instead of an alternator cobbled up on the homemade welded up bracket that they built for it.

My dog leaves little mounds in the yard that looks better than
the chip foose 4020 . I didn't think the international looked
that bad

Who really cares if they didn't change the gearing?
That tractor will never really be used for work again.
I'm sure the owner will just use it to drive around and at most do light work with it.
