Wife brought home a couple pounds of big mushrooms the other day...breaded and deepfried them..Gooooood....

Not very often that they show up in the store and look real good so we don't have them very often... Got me thinking of my useless basement..

anyone grow their own? How does it work (temp/humidity etc)???

Sam some mushroom kits somewhere once, is it just that easy?

Thanks, Dave

I've bought the kits from garden supply catalogs and grown them. Easy to do - just follow the directions. I had mine in a closet that was cool and dark over the winter. Only problem was I had too many all at once. If you love them enough that may not be a problem.

MMMMMmmmm!! Just made my mouth water..

Mushrooms stuffed with a mild sausage covered with provolone cheese and baked in the oven YUM !!

My Daddy raised some back in the "80's from a kit he got from a magazine ad. You drilled 3/4" holes in oak logs about 1" deep, put the seeds (spores?) in and plugged them off. Left them covered up with some tin and kept them damp. Once they started coming in , we had all the mushrooms you could stand!GOOD eating!!
