Somone help me out here please......
If you are looking at the big dipper on a clear night, put it at 12 O'clock (in your mind). Then, turn your head/eyes to 2:30 or 3 o'clock. There's what looks like a ladle/saucepan on end (handle pointing down).

What is that constellation????

Thanks for helping fix a small piece of my ignorance....

I think what you"re describing is Orion the Hunter. The 3 horizontal stars are his belt, the handle of the pan is his sword.

I am not following your 12 O'clock description, but the 2 stars on the end of the big dipper's bowl are pointers to the end of the handle of the Little dipper.
Aprox 5 times the distance between the 2 stars out from the bowl is the North star (Polaris). Polaris is the star at the end of the handle of the little dipper.
The 2 constellations are Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. The BIG Bear and the Little Bear. Google those names.

stand facing the BD... keep yours at that level and turn your head 90 degrees to the right

What would be the front of the cup of the dipper, those two stars; point to the North star. The entire "dipper" rotates around the north star during the calendar year. So the "ladle" is at a different clock position depending on the month.

There is an asteroid coming between Earth and the Moon Tuesday night. Something to do !
