bean stalks

I would run a big rotary mower over them. When I raised pole limas and green snap beans I used a 31-inch Toro rotary mower over them and then plowed. We never snap the green beans. She's cooking the last picking and they're whole without any ends. The Outback serves them with the ends. Hal

Disc it with a tandem disc first.

Years ago we had to do that with corn stalks before we got high clearance moldboard plows.

Shoulda combined at an angle, it will clear through the plow if you aren't always in the windrow.

Probably don't / can't plow at an angle, as it will mess up the field.

Sorry this wasn'tany help, but maybe for next year.

Keep disking, or run a stalk chopper over the windrows, try a chisel plow at an angle, ideas off the top of my head. I've done the chisel plow at an angle to direction of combine travel, works well.
