diff noises at high speed

Hi need help with my b414 that i have just purchased, at low speed i.e low range up to 1st gear in high range tractor runs fine, once in second high range it starts to make a clunking sound which appears to be coming from the right hand side axle when sitting on it and also on nearly every revolution, has anyone had this problem?
your help is much appreciated!

I imagine you will have to tear into it to see if anything is a broke. There is a lot of parts in there that could be making the noise. It could be a bearing, gears or brake parts showing up at the higher speeds. I had a tractor that made a noise like that because the differential lock wouldn't completely release.

Coming from farther out - wheel weight, wheel clamp that is loose, axle/wheel/rim clamps (if it uses thiose) that was left loose & is now worn so it moves & will keep wearing...

In close on the axle - would sure seem to be an axle bearing to look into first. Or perhaps the sound is more from the brake area, might be easier to check that over first.

yeah thanks for your input guys, my rear wheels dont have wheel weights so that loose bolts diagnosis is out, must be more internal, when i find the time and the courage i will pull the wheel off and inspect the bearings e.t.c

You said you don't have weights on it so next check your wheels, front and rear. I had a 230 farmall that was clunking in the rear and found out it was the left front wheel loose. Check your brake shafts to see if you have movement which will idicate a bearing. If it isn't a loose wheel then I think you have a chipped tooth. Bearing usually have a grinding sound and your axal bearing runs in oil which will keep the sound softer.

RIm to wheel bolts are also real possibility. (probably not a welded structure like on a car)
Put a dab of nail polish on each connection between the rim and the wheel (not the bolt) let it dry. Drive it. I will bet one or more of the connections will have broken the polish indicating movement. New bolts are likely to be needed. Jim
