Posting pictures

Now and then someone will ask how to add a picture to a message. This is not a difficult task, but there are several ways to get it done, some more complex than others. Personally, I like to use Photobucket, because among other things, it's free, it will resize the picture for you, and when you copy it's code into your post, it appears as a viewable, click to enlarge thumbnail, instead of a larger image that takes forever to open.
You do have to register with Photobucket.com to use their free service. They also have a fee based, premium service with more whistles and bells. So far, the free service does all I need to post pics on this site.
Here's the drill: Log on to Photobucket.com. Click the Image Upload tab. Leave the numeral 1 in the Submit Multiple Images box. You can upload as many as 19 images at a time, but for now, just do one. Click on Browse. This will take you to the files on your computer. Open the file that contains your picture, and its address will appear in the Image box. If you want to add a caption to the image, type it in the description box. Click on submit to upload the file. When it is finished, scroll down the page, and you will see your picture with your description under it. If you didn't add a description, the file name will be in it's place. Click on the box next to the description or file name. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on Generate HTML and IMG code. A new page will open titled : Generated HTML, Ebay and IMG Code. Click in the third box down, titled: "IMG Clickable Thumbnails for Message Boards - recommended." The code will be highlighted. Press "Control C" to copy the highlighted code. You can now close Photobucket and go to your Yesterday's Tractor message. Type in your message, and when you get to where you want the picture to appear, press "Control V" The code will appear as shown in Photobucket, but will display the picture when you submit the message. That's all there is to it. I have carried out these instructions as I was writing them, to make sure I didn't leave anything out. Here is the result:
Click on the pic to enlarge it.

I don't see why many of you have trouble posting pictures on this site. It is not hard to do and you DO NOT need photo bucket!!!!! To you guys using Photo bucket. Many times the photo is not available when we go to look at it. Plus it takes another step/link for the readers to get to it.

Just have the picture "saved" on your computer.

Then in the classic view go down to Advanced posting tools.

Click on " Upload Photo"

Then click "browse" it will bring up the photos in your computer.

Choose the one you want.

Click upload

Then when it is uploaded YOU HAVE TO CLICK CONTINUE to complete the upload. You can repeat this for as many photos as you want.

Thanks to onefarmer and JDseller for adding their posting methods. As with most tasks, there is more than one way to skin a cat. My offering is one that works for me. Hopefully it will suit someone else as well. I prefer the Moderen View because of it's chronological posting.
