I have a Husqvarna 350 saw and can not get it to run. Here is what I have so far.... It ran yesterday and shut off itself. I pulled the spark plug and have plenty of spark, it has a fairly new plug, fuel filter, and air filter as I replaced them all a couple of weeks ago. I have a primer "bubble" on the side and have gas up to there but when I pull the plug it is dry. I put a little gas in the spark plug hole and put the plug back in and got nothing. I also tried to put a little gas directly into the carb but nothing either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a million. KCC

When you do get it working add a couple magnets to it. It will more than double your power. teddy52food will tell you all about how it works.

Check the gas line that runs from the filter in your tank to your carb. I've had mine 2-3 time crack and draw air in and it will not run. simple fix if thats what it is...

Good luck

As far as I can tell it does, When I pull the sparkplug out it pull very easy and when I reinstall it it is harder to pull, I do not have a way to check compression other than that. The saw is 5 years old and has been used but not abused. It has always started good in the past.

Had one that had those same symptoms . It was borrowed to a friend and lost compression when the piston formed a new port to exhaust through the crank case. Lesson learned! Have the 65 Dad bought new. Wish I could see the pile of wood that cut in 36 years.

Fuel lines become brittle and or soft and leaky especially with Alcohol added fuels. The new hoses should be much better. Internal components in the carb include diaphrams and flap valves made of similar material. Loose mounting bolts is also suspect. If it has good compression Cord pulls firmly and pulses strongly, the engine should run. Warm the spark plug with a propane torch for about 30 seconds, then put it in while too hot to touch using a rubber hose on the terminal then tightening it. good luck, Jim

Had the same with my old 281 last year, took it in to get a look over as it was 'new' to me, they said it looked to be in real good condition.
Took it home used it for about 10 mins and it quit, i tried everything apart from strip it, it had gas a good spark and what i thought to be good compression.
Took it in again to be looked at, turns out i didn't shake my pre-mixed gas can well enough, it had over heated resulting in the piston ring scoring the chamber, resulting in not enough compression to run. New piston and rings fitted and re-bored, now it runs like the beasty that its suppossed to.
Note to self: Always shake mixed fuel before refilling 2 stroke motors.
If i could of managed it i would of kicked my own backside....

I used to be a Husqvqrna dealer. 350 is a great saw. Two simple problems happen to them, easiest
to fix is the screen on the muffler stops up. Most common is a pin hole in the fuel line. An uncommon but frustrating intermitten problem is the rubber boot that attaches the carb to the cylinder. If you have a compression gauge use it first to rule out a scored cylinder. Should have 110 lbs compression. Leaning out the fuel mixture will cause cylinder scoring, be carefull when adjusting carbuerator.

What grade fuel have you been using? If you have been using 87 you have burnt the saw up. You need to use a MINIMUM 89. Pull the starter rope real slow. If the pull is almost constant, your rings and jug are likely junk from running 87.

That particular model is famous for having the muffler bolts vibrate loose. I've got one on the bench that needs the threads repaired. There are two versions 44mm or 45mm cylinder. If you've got the 45mm with dished piston it can be replaced with a 45mm flat top piston for extra power. One nice thing about the 350 is the cyl can be removed without disturbing the crankcase, not usually the case with cheaper saws.

hi i would check the on off wires , after all the other suggestions. i have seen saw switches (on -off) go bad just like that, they sometimes have broke or came loose. just mt .02 cts

Check the gas line for a crack. Thats what happened to me. Our line cracked and would suck air and didn't run for. Replaced it and it worked. Hope this helps

I have a 357 which has cut less than 100 cord of firewood, the clutch sprocket broke and I changed it. It ran at a high idle, so I lowered it, now it will only run if I put fuel in the cylinder. New fuel, Cleaned the air filter, new NGK BPM7A plug, pleanty of spark, no scores on the piston or cylinder, my dealer says to replace the Walbro Carburator? Any other suggestions?
