Still looking for a cab (??) for my new tractor. Pic of the tractor on forums with what I'm looking for with model# and measurements, even what (model#'s)WON't fit. Get an email, call the guy and ask a couple ???'s (length, windshield size (2 sizes), and condition. Sounded good so drove 80 miles, he rode with me to where it was on the other side of town, listened to him BS about this & that, and he showed me the wrong top. Asked him to see the one I called about and he said that this one could be made to fit any tractor. Told him I didn't want to make something fit and asked to see the other one. He say's "what other one?"......
Just got in my car and left him standing there about 3 miles from home.....

That is all you do is get into a screwed up mess. I bet if you
left me 3 miles from my house I would have changed your
Outward appearance the next time we crossed paths. While
you were leaving I would have been taking down your tag
number. When I found out where you lived at we would have
seen how bad you really are. You get into more screwed up
messes than any normal person could ever imagine. If you
are what the American standard is gauged by, ain't we all in a
big a$$Ed mess. You need to get you a new username and
try to start over being decent!!!!

Dave2, Have you noticed the 1's that have bad mouthed you are signed in as guests.
I believe you did show some restraint. Did he offer to repay you your gas money for the wasted journey, did he even apologies for the lie he told you? I doubt it.
As for him turning up on your doorstep. After you left he probably realises what a *&^% he was.

Yea.some real bravehearts hanging out......... Didn't even talk with the guy as soon as I knew he didn't have what he said......... I'm honest to a fault sometimes and expect folks to be the same with me. Mistakes happen but when you deliberately lie to me, it's unacceptable. I respect folks that deserve respect, point it out in a direct way when they don't deserve it, and demand respect from the folks I deal with. Never knew that there was any other way to be..Guess I lead a sheltered life.....

I was told many years ago. The brighter/braver man always walks away from confrontation. And that is what dave did..

Leaving just 3 miles from home is not too bad. I left 2 girls over 40 miles from home because after I took them to a honky tonk and they flirted with someone else. I am sure they did not walk.

Dave only did what most on here would like to do when they drive 80 miles to look at something only to find out they were lied to. However, most on here either don't have the balls to do it or figure this is a proper way of doing business as they lie themselves.

Some people picking on dave2 for just walking away from potential troublesome situation instead of thumping deciever, others cussin" for not giving ride home to scammer. About half say did the right thing in leaving without bloodshed. I"ll go with "did the right thing by leaving without bloodshed"- some years back I might have done something nastier, but jail cells and grand jury appearances are not high on my list of preferences now-BTDT. Bavarian police work with code Napolean and allied modified civil code so staying overnight in cell would have been stretched out a bit more. Some of the locals seem to be trying to get back at Amerikaner for Remagen maybe. Keep trying for proper cab Dave for another couple weeks-- then get out the duct tape, drill, saw, and welder before snow flies. RN.

Truth be told, I don't know how I would have handled
such a situation. I think my mouth might have gotten

Hey Dave/ Tell all the nay Sayers to take a long walk on a short pier. driving 80 miles with high hopes of something that's promised as complete and right fitting can and would indeed Pizz me off to no end. I do believe you DID THE CORRECT THING in making an impression as to the results one can get if he lies about sale-able items he has advertised.Spending time chasing down parts needed for your tractor is an additional expense. Having to go and look at parts some jerk lied about is quite frustrating to say the least. A lot of beer muscle guys try and leave the impression that if what you did (leave the jerk stranded) to the lying fool, they would come up side your head. Never happens. cause they would be a NO SHOW. You did great.!!!!!!!!!! Kept your cool, taught a small lesson. Keep looking for a cab. One will show up, just like the tractor you needed.
