Always nice to see an Oliver 550 out there, earning its keep. I've had mine for about 35 years, and gradually, its gotten to where just about everything needs attention. PTO clutchs, fuel lift pump (its a diesel), fuel lines leaking, power steering leaking, starter turns too slow, etc., etc.- So my winter project is "going through it"- and not just with paint cans!

I'll bet that nice olive drab 2nd cut had a nice aroma to it, looks like some really nice hay, good drying weather too !

Nice pics. Those are scenes that are becoming foreign to us here in NW Iowa. We have very little hay in these parts. Corn and soybeans have crowded it out. About the only haying equipment we have is an old rake sitting unused somewhere and a sickle mower that cuts a few weeds or ditch tops. Jim

the neighbor just bought another one ,it was sitting in the woods for many years,he got it running already,it is a gas job,the one raking the hay is a diesel, his grandfather bought it brand new, He bought this one for 600 dollars last week, and was happy once he found out it runs,
