O/T Woods Zero Turn - 5140 Mowing Machine

I have a Woods zero turn model 5140 mowin machine. The hydrostats are getting weak. It hardly wants to move when it's cold and after about 5 minutes of running and warming up it runs good except on a hill, it doesn't want to pull and the farther I push the handles the slower it gets. My question is. Where can I find a rebuild kit or hydrostats to fix my problem. I did find new hydrostats but they want $1200 each. Any help or information is appreciated. Thanks, John in Il.
 
Like was mentioned check the belt that runs the hydro first. I can't keep all these machines in my head and don't see many cub units come thru shop so I need some more infor from you. I thought this unit had hyd pumps and wheel motors,does it or does it have a hydro transmission on each side by the rear tires. If you have the hyd pumps they ususally work fine and get weaker when they get hot,they are probaby made by parker or hydro gear,they are NOT 1200.00 each,that wuld be for both pumps which very seldom is required, check for leaks first and have you change the oil and filter. Let me know i can get any of the parts you need but need more info. Most of the hyd pumps thru this shop list around $500.00 to $550 each.
 
Sounds exactly like the symptoms I experience with
a Cushman Frontline. It has two matched belts from the motor pulleys that run the hydrostat charge pump. When the tension spring gets worn and looser,
the belts slip. Add a spring, shim the old one, or
replace the old one and it runs like new again.
 

Replace the belt AND pulleys on the hydro pump drive. There's only one belt there, so things need to be perfect for the best drive power. We have one that did the same thing. New parts fixed ours real good. Later on, we put a 18 hp Briggs Vanguard in the thing. NOW we got ourselves a mower! Makes the 48" deck mow like crazy!
