We like to go to Branson every Fall. We normally drive from Worthington MN. But with I-29 still out down by south part of Iowa, which way would you suggest. Thanks

Go to Des Moines and take Hwy 65 all the way south for the scenic route or DM south on I35 to Kc and south or to DM south on I35 to Bethany, Mo and then Hwy 13 all the way south for another pretty trip. I wouldn't go to Branson if you picked up the tab for me and twelve of my friends. Sorry, I can't stand the fake f***ing tourist traps. It's basicly for moron mentality.

They just opened it up this morning! Some areas are not 4 lanes yet, but they tell us it is open all the way now!

Starting about 1970, I took my family to Branson every five years in the fall, usually for the special events in October before they closed for the season. Nice weather, fall foliage, real pleasant.
Another treat we enjoyed was the play "Shepherd of the Hills", just down the road from Silver Dollar City. We were at the play the night they pulled that little girl out of a well shaft in Texas.
Another thing we enjoyed was a cabin in a place called the Sammy Lane resort, right on Lake Taneycomo, near downtown Branson.
That's all gone, and a shopping mall is in its place.
Last time we went was 1995, and I realized that the Branson we loved didn't exist anymore. We've never went back.
Hope you enjoy your visit.

Good to hear the Interstate is open again! I went to Branson for my honeymoon and had a blast. I took the same way you probably do down I29, however on the way back we took the scenic route through Wisconsin past the new in-laws. That will add some time to the drive. Hope you have a good time
