Hi all,
How is your corn harvest going this Fall? My neighbor combined mine for me on October 7, 2011 and the results were this for 100 day triple stack DeKalb corn.
13.8% moisture, 59.5 lb test weight, 137 bpa. My corn was planted on May 19, 2011. I guess for as hot and dry as it was here this summer, I am glad to have had any crop to harvest this Fall compared to other places in the U.S. I am in Southern Minnesota. Have a safe and bountiful harvest everyone. I would like to read other Fall corn harvest results and where your farm is located.

West central Ohio. Nothing being harvested here yet. Maybe south of here there may be some ready to run, but not a single combine running in Logan County.

Is this what that land normally yields or was it just that dry? 59.5 aint too shabby for a test weight.

I went from NW Iowa to Mankato today and I saw very few combines rolling in the northern Iowa/southern Minnesota area. They were all parked in the field along with the grain carts and trucks. I think they were waiting for the wind to go down. Too much fire hazard. There were plenty of tractors hooked to a disk sitting on the edge of the fields too. Jim

Where did you go in Mankato? I live mile and a half out side North Mankato. Kowfarmer I started picking today. Titanpro 98 day. 13.8 moisture 59 test weight planted May 4. Looks to be running 190 bpa to 200bpa. Unbelievable.

Hey there Flying Belgian,
I work full time in Mankato also besides part time farming. Are you located North on #13? Did you harvest your replanted beans? Just curious how they turned out. I drive past your replant field everyday. I took some vacation days from work to live "the good life" of farmin'. LOL Sounds like you got your corn in early with great results. Congratulations to you. Maybe someday I could meet you in person? Have a safe harvest.

Hey Fixerupper,
Normally the corn yields here in Southern Minnesota would be much higher. But there were a few variables this year due to weather. 1st. it was too cold and wet this spring to plant, then the water (rain) shutoff in July, August and September. It was one of the hottest July's I remember also. I think it could have possibly been one of the best years for corn yields if the rain would have came on a timely basis. But, I am thankful for what I have been blessed with.

I drove from Eastern Champaign County Ohio to Upper Sandusky, Ohio yesterday and saw 2 combines in the field and about 200 acres of beans already cut. But the elevator where I work was busy all day with truck loads of beans coming in. They must have all been in the field on the side roads, not the main one I used...

Negative on location. I am west on 14 right by Loe oil co tank farm and Northlinks golf course. Hy. 14 goes right through 2 of my farms so if you see a old 750 Massey combine working along the hyway between North Kato and Nicollet,, it is me. There is not another 750 along 14 for maybe 100 miles. Would love it if you would stop and say hay. Yes, I took out the replanted beans. About 20 bpa. What a disaster. But I have no one to blame but myself.

Just finished today Oct 8 Dekalb 102 day planted May 4, 215 bpa 17% 57 lb test. It was a good season for us here in Northeast Iowa.
