I guess I don't need to change that tractor to 12 volt after all. I had a few minutes before supper,so I pulled the battery out and reached down in behind the dash, tightened the nuts on the back of the starter button and it whirled right over and started like nobodys business. Loose connection after all, just not one I could see.

CONGRATULATIONS,,,,,,, Theres something to be said about a good old ORIGINAL 6 VOLT TRACTOR. If you have a good heavy duty high CCA battery,,,,,,,,,00 Gauge Battery n Starter n Ground Cables,,,,,,,,,All clean bright n tight n shiny conenctions and terminations and grounds,,,,,,,,,a good starter motor and well tuned engine,,,,,,,THEY WILL START OKAY

That was easy! Keep that phone number, you'll need it sooner or later.

By the way, got lug bolts off that spreader. Not corroded, rusted, just amazingly darn tight. Borrowed an electric impact, and it finally got 'em loose. (Guess what's on my Christmas list.) Had to heat last one, with propane torch, melt wax around it, but it finally broke loose.
