John Deere 2020

Got a 1966 John Deere 2020. Would ask for information on the best way to remove a rear wheel.
Also, I have a hydraulic leak at the left "load control pin". This is the shaft that holds the lift arms at the bottom of the transmission. Would ask the best way to change out the seal on this shaft. Thank You for reading this and any help that I may receive.

What type rear axle rack & pinion or flanged?

On oil leak-- put L/D control lever in"D",drain hyd/trans oil,remove both 3pt draft links,slide shaft out,inspect shaft for wear,replace seals,slide shaft back in,install 3pt draft links with minimum play & re-install oil.

Not sure if this gets back to Tx Jim or not, but thanks to you on the oil leak problem. I do not
know what you are calling an L/D lever. The rear axle is rack and pinion. I understand that I pull bolts on this unit. I am asking if there any odd things to know about the removal and replacement other than it being heavy and cumbersome. Thanks again

The L/D lever is under the seat on RH side of the housing that the rockshaft is located that raises/lowers 3pt hitch.

On R&P axles, loosen 3 large bolts, tighten 2 smaller bolts, hit end of axle with a very large hammer to loosen wedge. abundant amounts of your favorite penetrating oil applied also. Turn jack screw to move wheel on axle.

Have you giving thought to purchasing an operators manual?

Have an owner's manual coming from ebay. Just wanted to get started on a few things before it
gets here. Thanks again for the information
