I am having a steering problem I started with replacing the seals on the steering cyclinder and the piston rings. I had to hone the inside of the cylinder inorder to get the piston and cylinder to go back together. I'm not sure exactly how they fit together to begin with because the tollerance was overly tight I think that is what caused my leak to begin with.
My question is that when I placed the cylinder back on the tractor and started it up the steering wheel turned left to right very fast and continued after a while I asumed that there is air in the line but I am unsure how to remove it or do I have another problem that I am not catching?

If it is air in the line, which it sure sounds like it is, it should come out of a double acting cylinder simply by turning all the way to right and then all the way to left. Are you sure the hyd. oil level is up to full?

yes the reserve is filled and the fluid is cycling and I have tried to turn it all the way to eather the right or the left but with no sucess I acts like it fights me when I try to turn the wheel. And then starts it fast movement again. I let the tractor run about 30 minouts, at an idle, inorder for it to cycle the air out should it run longer?
