AC wheel interchange

AC d-15 Has a wheel center hole of 6" and 8 on 8" bolt pattern. Does that interchange with any other brand(s)? Just lookin to see if I could bolt up a less expensive wheel, than a 26" PA rim, which is $3-350, per wheel, for a new rim.

Would that be the same as a WD rim bolt pattern? I have a WD with 26 inch combine wheels on it. They"re not hard to find. Check older small Case combines, and JD 45-55. Not sure which they came from.

its a pretty standard pattern...trouble is finding rims wide as yours...my Mahindra 6000 takes a similar wheel as my AC D17D...my Ford2000,the '52 8N,and the David Brown 885 and the other 2 all have same lug pattern.

Dave,

I second combine rims. I have a set of 23.1-26 tires/rims I've thought about putting on my D-17 a few times.. Don't really need anything that wide or nothing.. Just have em laying around here..

I'd recommend something like a 18.4-26. It's a fairly common size (on older combines).. I have a really nice set on rims, I'd say 80% tread but the tubes need replaced (someone broke off the valve stems somehow), and the rims need painted.

In our area, with the scrap prices the way they have been, plus combine derbys around, combine rims/tires are plentiful at consignment sales, and usually go CHEAP.. Heard a REALLY good set of 23.1-26 go for about $150 over the weekend (but the bolt pattern on the rim was funny.. never seen a pattern quite like it)

The little fords, TO fergussons and DB 7&8s are 8 bolts on 6" pattern.

The 8 bolts on 8" pattern is standard on many combines including AC and 4400 deere, DB 9, 12, 14s, mid size MF...

I'm going to switch my D15 over to 28". So I'll have tires/rims someone could get some use out of.(14.9x26 tires are decent, one rim rotted through, one seeping).

Thanks for the replies, Have gone the combine route, before. I found a set of 16.9X26, at the thief, in Aquasco's yard, he wants $450. 00 for the set. As this is not for me, personally, I intend to recommend him to the guy looking for the rims. Only place I haven't checked yet, is Wenger's , in Meyerstown, PA. Would have to be way cheap, to make that trip!
