Perkins 3.152 oil filter

I know the Allis 160 used this engine... maybe some Masseys too? Or other Perkins engines that use (Car Quest)filter no. 85099? I'm wondering if there is a spin-on filter adapter. My combine uses the same filter, and it's a pain to change it - hard to reach. NH isn't any help, even though I've seen at least one combine engine from this series with a spin-on. Thanks for any help.

Spin on filter adapters for the Perkind A 3-152 are readily available from aftermarket suppliers. I've bought these from nnalert in the past.

The adapters use the later AD 3-152 spin on type filter and usually require longer bolts for installation.

NAPA has some conversion, and remote mount kits.
They"re in the back of their 2011Reference Guide.
Starting on page 666. I see kits for Chevrolet,Cummins, and several generic sizes.

Up till a few years ago, Massey Ferguson owned Perkins, so nearly all MF's from the 60's to the 90's had some sort of Perkins. So post this question on that forum- but- I think the store on the left column has/ had the conversion kits. click on tractor parts, MF, 135, engine parts?

I just converted mine from the 'reuseable' filter (original) to the spin-on type by installing an adapter... I have a 1961 3.152 diesel perkins engine... The type of filter needed will depend on the adapter you get...
P.S. I had to get [i:360bcfd505]shorter[/i:360bcfd505] bolts to mount the adapter.... Just FYI...

Thanks. Didn't know what MF models to look under. Listed under 135, oil systems. Nothing like that listed under Allis 160, oil systems.
Didn't realize MF owned Perkins. Sold off as part of the merger deal?

Adapter kit is available on this site. If you're bound and determined to buy a Massey Ferguson part, look for adapter for a MF245 diesel.

I've had one on my 150 for years. I use a Napa 1460 or Wix11460 filter (NAPA Gold filters are wix)

Perkins is now owned by Caterpillar. Cat ended up with Perkins, Massey Ferguson ended up building Challenger tractors for Cat.

Hmmm... might be out of luck trying to find an adapter going this route. YT's parts list shows the same kit for the 135 and 245 (p/n s.40533), but the filter head is oblong where it bolts to the block... I need one that's round. Too bad p/n s.42809 wouldn't work for me.

42809 is for a Gasoline engine ('cause I bought one by mistake)...
I was unable to find my oil filter adapter on this site... I bought it 'elsewhere'...

Did you just get parts similar to #42809, or did you have to get a new filter head also? If you didn't have to replace the head, where did you get the parts?
Looking at parts pages on NH's website, I see a newer version in this series of engine has a filter head for spin-ons, but it's listed as 'not serviced separately' and no part number or price is listed. Takes same gasket to mate to block, so it would work -IF- I can find one. May have to start checking boneyards...

This is where I got mine (this is the one I ordered)...

P.S. The shorter mounting bolts came from Fastenal (they are 1" shorter than the original)...

Combine, not a tractor. NH 1400 with a 2715E Ford 'Dorset' diesel. I've seen at least one combine with a Dorset series engine that had a spin-on filter, so I know the part is out there...
After looking at the kits for the Perkins engines, they won't work. The gasket and shape of the filter head aren't the same as on the Dorset. I was hoping that, since they used the same cartridge type filter, a kit for one might work on the other... guess I was thinking the kit would be like p/n s.42809 for the gas engines.
Thank you all for your help on this. I'll try to include a link to Messick's showing what I currently have.
