The 25 year old son of a gal my wife and I are Godparents to died this morning.

He was living with a (currently) unmarried aunt. When he didn't get up this morning, she went in, tried to wake him, and found him unresponsive. She called 911, but he was gone.

Initial blood tests showed NO drugs or alcohol in his system, so--guess the Lord just decided to call him home.

Such a shock...especially young age..., but what a way to go. I can only hope and pray my time will be like that.

had a thirty year old cousin die like that,as good of a guy as youll ever meet.wife got up in the morning to go to work and wondered why he wasnt already awake.coroner said his heart just quit from being enlarged.his wife said he never complained of being sick ,hurting or anything.I guess when its your time...

Yep.

A year ago, one of my wife's brothers celebrated his 72nd birthday on a Friday night, went to bed same as ever Saturday night, and simply never woke up Sunday morning.

3 yrs ago a 36 yr old guy at work went home on Labor day weekend and never woke up. My boss spent the morning calling and got his dad, the guy lived alone. He died in his sleep from a blood clot on his lungs. He was really overweight, though. The nicest guy you'd want to meet.

Had a neighbor passed a few years back while out of town at a business convention. Friends called him several times throughout the morning when he didn't show up for any of the meetings but got no response. When they finally got someone to open the room they found him still in the bed. Turns out he had a heart attack in his sleep. If I'm remembering right he was in his early 50's at the time so it was still way to early to go....

Sorry to hear of your loss Goose.

Awhile back a guy in his mid-twenties was found deceased in his bed at home. Immediate speculation was drug and/or alcohol overdose, as this guy was known to party. Turned out he died from an infection and complications. Had some condition that he was taking antibiotics for, and thought that it was cleared up. The infection wasn't gone, and it turned into blood poisoning? or something like that. Just went to bed like usual and passed in his sleep. At the funeral, his mother asked that his friends keep in touch, as she had lost her only child and wanted his friends to stay in contact with the family. Very sad.
