Stalk chopper

I looking at a IH 50 stalk chopper and I was wondering how much horsepower you would need to run it. I have a IH 656 I would like to use on it if I got. I know they use less horsepower than a rotary mower.

We used to pull a 2-row Stalk Chopper on one of our JD "B"s...3rd and 4th, once it got wound up..
Once it got going, it would beat them to a pulp..!!
(Just don't get it into the ground..!!!!!)..

I can pull a 4 row chopper with a 85 and a 60 hp tractor and works well.

My Oliver S77 manages in a brief use, but not well at all, wouldn't recommend it - it's about 40-45 pto hp.

Think your tractor is about 60hp, should work?
