O/T Jeep Cherokee

2002 Grand Cherokee, daughter's car, is leaking water in passenger floorboard. Leaking around the drain hose but hose and plastic under dash are all one piece. Dealer here gives price about $1500 to fix. Almost all the dash has to be taken apart.
Anyone know way to get this drain clear? Wonder if placing smaller hose inside the drain hose will work to letwater drain.

My tactic would be to cut off the plastic about 3/4" from the pan on the inside, then fish out the material plugging it up, then use rubber hose to make a coupling. Jim

Does it have a cabin air cleaner? Located under the cowling, access is outside and there is a seal around it. Seal could be leaking causing a leak on the floorboard. We sealed grand daughters Impala with atv sealer 2 years ago & still no water. didn't have to mess with dash at all. At first we thought it was the heater core leaking but no antifreeze. Don't know about your Jeep tho. Just my thoughts, Keith

Get under the Jeep and poke a straightened coat hanger up the hose/pipe to clean out any blockage... Had to do that with two that I owned...

Air gun in the hose. My 95 had a TSB on it about this problem(shurley they have fixed this by now) Under the passenger side below the glove box is a round plug about 1 1/2" in the center of it there is a V drill a hole at the inside bottom of the V,blow air, and plug the hole with RTV. That is the cure for a 95. Good luck.

I am not sure on a 2002,,, the earlier models had this issue and a pain in the arse to stop the leakage so this is my fix... I cut the frame and add a hose to the drain like they should have in the first place... Once I can get at the end of the drain pipe I can clean it out,,, theirs a TSB to drill a hole from the front so you can blow the drain out but this fix is a short term fix....

I Have a pix but gotta find it... They also will leak on the drives side (rain water) at a seam just under the hood but its not a issue on the passengers side its a drivers side leak...
