Fuel Leak,again...

3 weeks ago I replaced the sediment bowl assembly,3way valve, and fuel line on my JD B. Now it has started leaking again, from every connection except the carb and fuel line connection. Why would it start leaking now after 3 weeks of being solid? Did it take the gas that long to find a way out?

Without seeing it, the first thing to come to mind is the flare fittings aren't squeaky clean. Next is they weren't aligned quite right when they were tightened. Or there's a crack that opened up but it's very uncommon to have more than one flare cracked. Flare fittings can be frustrating. They're 60-70 years old by now and they start getting a little leaky, just like the rest of us who are getting up to that age LOL. Jim

I've had good luck with the original style fittings from Roberts, soldering them to a copper fuel line. Flare type fittings have not done so good for me, and frequently leaked after they had been apart and together a few times. The original JD style don't seem to do this. New fittings are easy to solder on a new copper line and I have never had one come apart or crack.
