Honda 550 wiring diagram (1976)

Any body have one. I now have the boys 550 here and found what he burned up when he installed the battery back wards. Need to know how the rectifier is hooked up. Ha 5 wires. 1 ground looks like 1 hot and 3 to the rectifier so need to know how it is wired so I can either make some thing work or maybe if I get lucky buy a good used one.

Only thing better is the manual, and I have one somewhere, haven't seen it in years. But it had two diagrams, one just a wiring schematic, the other was a color coded schematic, and from memory, this was it. I had a 550 that I called the purple flame because it was purple, and I could speed it around on the frozen lake, and was lite enough never went through the ice when I'd go down. Bought the manual through my old Massey dealer when he existed, so I guess this is tractor related.

there is a old honda dealer on west side of cinciny,i have a 1973 cbf350.i am trieing to find afrount brk fitting to get back on the road.frout cal stuck, made for an interesting ride until i got hme with it. good luck buy the way do you live arround sw oh?
 
The Honda green wire is ground, yellow or pink wires are the output of the stator, and then the hot to the battery is red/white stripe.

Is that what you needed?

It is a 1976 Honda 550-4. The rectifier is a Hitachi and it has a red wire which is burned out. A green wire which also is burned out and 3 yellow wires. The bike has a few other wires the got hot but can be fixed. The bike also still runs so the ignition circuit was not hurt
 
Well heck ya is is a machine I use when I neeed smal repair parts for a tractor of baler etc so yep has to do with tractors because with out one of the bikes it cost a lot more $$ to get parts from the tractor dealer that is 40 miles away
