Fordson Super Major Engine?

I posted this message on the Fordson page, but thought I'd try my luck here too.
I have a Timberjack log skidder, and was told that it had a Fordson Super Major engine in it. Engine needs an overhaul, and I'm wondering if a Super Major overhaul kit will work? The serial number on the engine is S360817. If a fordson kit from this site will not work, does anyone know where I could order a rebuild kit for it?
Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if it was a Fordson engine as Fordsons were built by Perkins.
I have heard about those skidder engines before - fellow in my hometown knew I was a Ford Man and asked me. I believe they used a Ford 6 cyl diesel. Non structrual engine - was used in some of the smaller Ford and maybe Claas combines.

Fordson used Daginham engines. Dorset was another poplar engine used as power units in industrial apps. The Dexta used a perkins cast to Fords specs.

All Fordson E1A's had Fordson engines built in Dagenham by Ford (Petrol,TVO and Diesel.)None of these engines were built by Perkins or of Perkins design.Dexta's and Super Dexta's diesel (957e) also had Fordson engines too. TSG.

If it has Ford stamped on (cast in?) it, it's likely one of the Dorsets. I think it would have EnFo (English Ford) if it was a Fordson engine. If a 4-cylinder Dorset series, it would likely be 254 cubic inches. The only experience I have with the Dorsets is the 380 c.i. 6-cyl. in my combine. Owners manual does list specs on the 254 (and 363) as well.
