Hi theres a ferguson 20 with both a hupps and howard boxes for sale. I was just wondering how much of a difference in speed is there. Would it be as fast as a fordson dexta

The Howard auxiliary transmission is a reduction only unit intended to make the early Ford and Ferguson tractors suitable for PTO driven tiller work.

The Hupp auxiliary transmissions are usually combination units having underdrive, direct and overdrive ratios.

A tractor equipped with both can be underdriven to move very slowly or overdriven to about 20 or 21 MPH at rated engine speed.
