looking at a old style head light [round or rectangle] from the REAR what prong is ground ? which is low beam and which is high beam? also when lit are both high and low on when its on high beam?THANK

If memory serves me correctly, (and at ten twenty at night I ain't going out to check), there two terminals side by side and one midways just above. That one is ground. You can use a multimeter and check voltage on the plug to find Hi and Lo beam, and even ground. And no, I don't think they are both lit on Hi beam. It's the angle of the reflection that changes. I stand to be corrected, as it has been some time since I have had to deal with a sealed beam, although I personally did not see the necessity to change to the crap that they have now.

I know, I kinda like the lights on my '91 Jeep Cherokee...they are dim..reminding me of the lights (60 Candle Power) that my old '38 Chevy Coupe had..!!!
I read somewhere, they figure you should replace your head light bulbs regularly...!!!!!!!!!
Aint that some fine planning..!!!!!

Ron..

I have found out which is high and which is low by pointing the sealed beam at a wall or some such and hooking up the wires one at a time. It is pretty easy to tell which is which. Only one at a time is used.
