No fire on 8N

I am working on an 8N for a neighbor. Got it and it was lacking compression on three cylinders. Been told it was overhauled less than a hundred hours ago but ten years ago by a local guy so didnt figure the engine worn out. Did a wet compression test and it was 40, 60, 70 and 90. Bought the little required wrenches and adjusted the valves to .016. the compression is now 70,80,80 and 95 psi wet. Problem is now I have no spark. There is power to the + side of the coil and power to the - side of the coil intermitant with the points opening but have no fire on any plug wire. Is this an indication of the coil going bad or something in the distibutor? The cap and rotor are in good shape, look new. thanks for any help

First off compression less then 90PSI on an 8N is not good enough to run well if at all. I would do an ATF treatment on it as in fill the cylinders with about a 1/2 cup of ATF and let sit a couple days. As for no spark I am guessing it is a side mount distributor so you need to check/clean the points and make sure they are gaped at 0.025. Then check for spark. If still no spark hot wire it and if you then have spark you know which way to go from there. No spark hot wired says a problem with the distributor and you may have the points shorted out

Remove the coil wire from the cap and hold it next to a ground. With the distributor cap off and the points closed open and close them with a screwdriver. Does the coil wire provide good spark each time the points are opened? If so look to the distribution end, if not look to the coil end.
