Adjust Gauge of wheels on 9N Ford

Can anyone tell me the correct way to change the gauge of the wheels on a 1946 Ford 9N? Want to set it up to use several types of equipment accessories.

Al your best bet is to get a copy of the owners manual. I think you can get reprints from this site. Also go to the top of this page and post this question in the Ford N page.

No such thing as a 1946 9N it would be a 2N that year. That said go down a few forums and ask in the 9N/2N/8N forum many more people there who know the N series tractors. As for adjusting how one sits you need a manual to explain it correctly but the I-T FO-4 will do just that.

For changing both axles tread width the I&T shop manual provides an illustration and paragraph about changing the tread width from 48 to 76 inches.

You move the rim on the wheel disc and opposing wheel disc to get the varying eight total combinations illustrated in the manual.

The I&T Shop Manual #FO-4 is sold online at the link and in farm stores such as Tractor Supply.
