Forcast for tonight, Smoke?

I know it's been a trying week working on the chopper, but I don't need a smoke. Lol! The forest fires in or near the arrowhead of Minnesota are sending all of their smoke down this way. This morning, everything smelled like a brush fire & there was a yellowish-grey haze everywhere. This afternoon, it smelled of burning rubbish. Some poor folks must have lost their homes. :v( The moon tonight was a smokey, eerie shade of red.

The advisorys page is ever changing, so I don't think the link below will work for too long. I copied the smoke advisory for everyone to read after the link is no longer available.

At least it isn't over this way again. For the past 2-3 days we have been smelling the smoke over here. Last night there was what looked to be ash in the air.

Can notice it here in southern MN too, tho not as strong as you are getting.

Perhaps it can help insulate against the frost they are warning about for the following nite through nmost of Minesota? We are _not_ ready for that!

We smelled smoke all day Tuesday here in central Ontario. Clear this morning. Big fires can be devistating, sorry for the loses.

Heard on the news over 50,000 acres had burned in Cass/Marion counties and the Bastrop fire was the costliest on record.

Bastrop fire burned over 34,000 acres in a populated area. Over 1800 homes destroyed and 2 deaths.

New fires are popping up every day. Latest estimate was over 3.6 million acres have burned in Texas so far.

Fires are only adding to the misery the drought has caused.

Its a tough year for Texas.

The smoke we are smelling in the midwest is from a 100,000 acre wildfire in the arrowhead of Minnesota. The Boundary waters wilderness area is burning.

Today the smoke is thick here along the west shore of the UP. There is ash in the air as well. Luckly we are having 50mph winds so it's at least you can breath.

We"ve had smoke up here in the Mission Valley for about 10 days from fires burning down in the Bitteroot and Saphire Mountains as well as one just East of Missoula. Can"t smell the smoke but the air is smoky. It has been a lot worse than this in the 2003-2006 time period when we had a drought conditions and lots of fires.
Its made for some pretty dramatic sunsets!
