Canada's Outdoor Farm Show...

in Woodstock, ON.
tractor/farm/agriculture related.

how many are going/have gone? i haven't been since high school... kinda hard with college then full time job. thinking of going this week before work (i work 3pm-12am) Always great to see new toys
Outdoor Farm Show

Don't forget about the IPM too. I would like to attend but have a scheduling conflict. Then again I'm nervous about venturing down into the country of Quebec/eastern Ontario.

I'm going on Wednesday.Picking up a wood splitter that I ordered a while back It's the only one worth going to. Toronto gets worse every year. IPM has too much non-farm related stuff at it.

Well the farm show is about a forty minute drive but can't say I am interested enough to go. I like the International Plowing Match but only when its in reasonable distance to drive. I have attended many, was in charge of school displays when it was in Dashwood. A tremendous amount of work goes into that show by the communities that host them, but a very interesting show with focus on farm women just as much as men.

Went to the first one, and haven't felt the need to go again. If I want a peice of equipment, I don't need to go to the farm show ,waste a day , and cash to be ignored by dealer reps that think they are big shots. I just go and talk to my local dealer, they can tell you whats new.

Que feels like you're in a not so friendly country at times when I've had to enter it. I try to avoid la belle province at all costs.

Yeah that attitude kinda started in the 70's, but a few years ago went to -had to go to, Quebec City. I tried some really bad french on them.... usually they smile or smurk, and say " where the !@#$ you learn how to speak french like that?' I say my half quebecios half acadian mother, then laugh and speak english. But you go to start by trying, breaks the ice I suppose.
I don't want to hyjack the post but- have to tell you this one! was on 'VIA's Canadiian'- somewhere in eastern Ontario, a guy from Montreal sitting across from me said- 'I tink you leff yer hat in da toilet... which I did. An older lady was just going to close the door- I said "pardon madam, en ici eh mon shap-oo.'... they both look at me... then, in english- at the same time they scream "shapooooo! where did you get shap ooo" hey in 30 seconds everyone on the train was looking at me whispering 'ill par chapoo- hahaha' I was never so embarassed. you know the ones that rode all the way to Edmonton with me were just great the whole trip... but don't call a hat shap oo to break the ice, it's not worth it....
