Noise dampening materials (brush on)

I'm doing a diesel conversion in an old Ford pickup and was going to try to keep it from sounding like a pile of bolts rolling around in a tin can. I thought I would insulate the inner fenders, underside of the hood and fire wall with some roll on/brush on rubber insulating substance.

Anyone have any experience with such? Suggest a supplier or brand?

Eastwood has just the ticket for noise suppresion,Sheets of a rubber like compound i think, sticky on one side and Aluminum foil faced on the other,it's made for automotive use to silence engine and road noise.google Eastwood .com
Not cheap in my opinion.

I heard once of layering tar paper and roofing tar on the inside of doors and other panels. That was a long time ago and I am sure that there are much better ways of doing it now.

If you don't mind me asking, where is the donor engine coming out of?
