What hydraulic fluid do you use?

I have not known hydraulic fluid to be that thick. There is a big difference between gear lubricant and hydraulic fluid.

Just hydraulics and hydraulics only? Or is there wet brakes or wet clutches that also uses the "hydraulic" oil?
I couldn't imagine 90wt gear oil in a hydraulic system as such.

For this machine's age I'd guess at something in the neighborhood of 20weight oil. There's a c46 (I'll look it up for sure if you want) in Ford farm and industrial tractors thru the 50's.
Our 60's Ollie and JD tractors use trans-hydraulic (10w) consistency.

Back at that time they would have used 20 or 30wt. non det. motor oil. Thats what all the tractor I have around that period of time used. The Clark Planeloader was made from early 40's to about 1953.
