Befco finish mower

I"m looking at a Befco-RD-7 finish mower. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on Befco mowers?

They are just a litle over middle of the line in the finish mowers. Sold them for years and they give good service. Some of the parts are a little pricy. Comparable to Woods, Land Pride ect not bad units/

I've had a 7-foot Befco rear discharge going on 10 years. It's plenty tough.

One drawback is that the gearbox sets to the rear of the deck, which results in an extra long PTO shaft that will contact the front of the deck if the 3-point is raised full height. I bent (and straightened) the shaft twice after yanking the 3-point lever up when the mower started scalping.
