Swapping truck tires

I have a Ford f-150 with almost brand new tires that’s going to become a off road
woods truck, And I have Ford f-350 with junk tires I want to put on the road ( Single rear wheel 2 wheel drive)
Is this doable ? speedo will be off some i would imagine

Ford f-150 with 235/70-16 for Ford f-350 265/75-16
Thanks

Measure the outside circumference, it might not be that much difference. I had a friend that put bigger tires on his truck and fried the transmission, it wasn't worth it!

After I read your post again, it might be quite a bit of difference, measure the circumference, do the math. Depending on the gear ratios of the trucks it might work.

I own a F-150 I don't think the 265/75 will clear the wheel wells on the 150 unless the iron moss has radiused them or it has been lifted. I'm running 255/70 on mine and there isn't a lot of room left. Next question how much weight is the 350 going to haul? the 235/70 my not have the load rating that the 265 tires do. Are the 235/7o's LT235/70?

You are going from 10 ply tires to 4 ply tires. Speed will be off 10 mph I would guess.

Tire calculator says the speedo will read 9.295% too fast. The swap can likely be done depending on the rim. The F-350 has a wide rim vs a thinner rim on the F-150. The load ratings may also be different on the tires so just watch for that.

Go to Discount Tire website. They have a tire dimension calculator that you input different tire sizes to see the difference.http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos

Here is the detailed comparison:
Home > Tech > Tire Size Calculator USD
235/70R16>Circumference: 90.94 in
265/75R16>Circumference: 99.39 in
Speedometer Difference: 9.295% too slow
Diameter Difference: - Diameter Difference: 8.51%

The tires on the F-150 are probably P-rated passenger tires.

The tires on the F-350 are almost certainly Load Range E LT, light truck tires.

Will they fit back and forth? Sure, as long as you have a tire guy that isn't fussy about rim width... Some guys will not put the 265's on the F-150 rims because the rims are too narrow, and won't put the 235's on the F-350 rims because the rims are too wide.

We had a heck of a time getting LT225-75R16's to seat on my Chevy 1/2 ton rims, even though the stock tire was one size up. The tire guy had to start the beads by beating on them from the inside of the tire with a screwdriver.

I can't imagine trying to stretch the 235's on to the wider F-350 rims. It may be game over for that reason alone.

Your biggest problem will be, you won't be able to put anything in the F-350 on P-rated passenger car tires.
