Here in Calif. When the rain is over it is over. Well this year we got a couple real late rain stormes, enough to regrow a few mowing, and discing jobs I did. Last week I had to redisc a field, and charged less. Today I remowed another field. I am thinking it is not my fault the weeds regrew, and I should charge the same price. Any thoughts? Stan

Unless you promised you would kill all the weeds for the whole season, I think you should charge full price. You are doing the full job, you need full compensation.

If you could control the weather, you would be making enough that you wouldn't have to mow and disk. If they don't want to pay, let them put somebody else out of business.....

When I was a teenager , my Dad used to mow hay fields for people so they could either have it baled or else they let it lay to rot . The second cutting was the same price as the first with no quams from the land owner .It's not your fault it regrew . God bless

Is your fuel supplier giving you a discount the second time around?

If you can get the job done a bit faster and using less fuel than the first time, I'd say a discount is in order. Otherwise no, unless you made a deal up front to keep the weeds down. And if you did, you should have charged them extra up front.

Gotta charge the for it, you are the operator, not the farmer in that situation. They take the risk of farming. Same thing when I custom harvest a field, not my fault for drought etc. If its my own field then I assume the risk.
