Likely dirt in the load circuit of the carb. do you have the large jet open a little?

With the lack of info your problem could be many things. You may have missed something in the carb. Your air cleaner could be clogged up you timing could be off or the points set wrong etc etc etc. What happens if you try to choke it??? Do you have a blue/white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap??? Is the fuel fresh or is it old and stall??

While you are looking, don't forget to make sure the air Inlet tube to the air cleaner..
Take the oil cup off and shove a length of Heater Hose of broken end of a soft garden hose all the way to the TOP of the inlet above the Hood..to be sure no Mud Dauber nests are in there and blocking that tube..
If that is what is wrong, the tractor may run and idle well, but SMOKE Blue Smoke really Bad under any good LOAD..
That blockage causes suction on the ventilator pump tube and pulls engine oil up, into the air inlet tube ahead of the Carb...

Keep giving us descriptions of what it is doing...

I rebuilt starter, carb, mag. new wires an d plugs. Somewhere along the line I fixed it Yea
