Huber LC Radiator Core?

I have a Huber LC that needs a radiator core. The radiator shop I took it to said it would cost $650 to re-core. Is that a fair price? He said part of the cost was to send the old core in to make a pattern for the top tank. Does anyone know if the same core was used on any other tractors? I do know it has the same engine as an Oliver 80.

Sounds like a ripoff.A good radiator shop has books on cores ,so all that has to be done is for them to measure the size core, count water passages, then place an order from the one who has it. Re-solder the tanks, pressurize it, and then it's good to go. I've had several done that way. Just like as new radiator. They will even flat black(paint) it with the correct paint . Not the run of the mill flat black fro the hardware's shake and rattle selection. PHIL

Yes, the correct radiator paint will let the heat through while other black paints sometimes keep the heat in the radiator. So let your radiator man spray the correct paint on your radiator. That radiator core should not cost over $550.--- Derrol in Texas---(Case LA Propane)

Buckeye, I am interested in your search. I too have a LC in need of a new core. Local guy priced it a $800, It was listed in an old modine radiator book. Please let us know what happens
