Nebraska just joined the Big Ten Conference, and the Cornhusker football team has yet to play a game as a member of the Big Ten.

Tonight some analysts on the Big Ten Network were predicting the Nebraska Cornhuskers would be the 2011 conference champs.

I'm just hoping the Cornhuskers don't embarrass themselves the first year, til they get their feet wet.

My buddy was saying something about that last night. There's a possibility, then, of seeing a game against the Badgers? If so, that's just awful. I back both teams whole-heartedly, but own a winter Nebraska jacket. S'pose I won't get hollered at for wearing the wrong colors, huh?

The Fuskers have a tough schedule this year! I also hope they play well and don't get too many injuries. Should be a fun ride! GBR!

whats so scary?? the nebraska teams i remember
would pummel the big ten. the big ten always blows the bowl games ...just like notre dame!
oh oh joe montana where are you?

They will be competitive in the Big 10. This is going to be an interesting season for the Big 10. I think that Nebraska was a good choice to go to the Big 10 and that all Husker fans will be going to a bowl game in January.

I wouldn't worry about any "embarrassment". Also, the Nebraska game is one of the 3 BIG games on Michigan's schedule this year, according to all 3 of my daughters who are/were students there. Don't know what tickets are going for Nebraska yet. ND a week from now is fetching about $300.

Stranger things have happened: Penn State won the conference the year that they joined. Few and far between since then. I'm glad the Huskers are in, and extatic to have a clear champion. No more co-championships for the Buckeye's. That always seemed pretty lame to me. PSU has had to share the title with them after beating them head to head. ???

This isn't all that OT because most of these schools are big time AG research facilities!

HOW can we keep BO cool? Maybe his oklahoma buddies will Help WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE BIG 12 AGIES LEAVING MAYBE OKLAHOMA whew

I wish college sports was like high school sports...must have lived there to play there. Without imported players most schools would be invisable. Anyway, college sports has become training camp for the pros and has little or nothing to do with education.

Some say it gives folks in states without pro teams something to cheer for...what a bunch of guys from Chicago and DC playing for Iowa? Iowa...a complicated name most could not spell before they were recruited. Not picking on Iowa...it is the same everywhere.

Speaking of Penn State, did Penn State ever get the exact shape and dimensions of their football field ironed out?

Cornhusker fans are still upset about the time 20 or more years ago when a Penn State reciever caught a game winning touchdown pass that the officials ruled valid. Replays clearly showed the reciever landed at least three feet out of bounds.

Only thing I can say is,...."M GO BLUE"! And,....Ohio State is nothing but a bunch a cheaters!" How ever, I welcome Nebraska to the Big 10 as a Michigan fan.

Analysts can be wrong just as often as the chap in the street.
If you want to make a small fortune listening to the analysts' on the stock exchange, start with a larger one.

Everyone that is so proud of their teams should look into how much it is costing each student at that college to support that team. Many schools like to let on that the teams help support the school, but in reality, 500 to 1000 of each students tuition goes to supporting the sports teams. That is money that is hard for a lot of students to come by.
