No problem here in Nebraska, but as of last night our daughter in Washington DC had electicity, but no land line telephone, cable TV, or Internet. She called on her cell phone. Haven't heard from her yet today.

Cloud cover was a heavier and lower than normal in NE Iowa. They happened to be having an airshow at the local airport. I think some of the high altitude stunts were changed to low altitude acts.

Yes made it through,but stuff took a beating.Corn lost 25 to 30% and lots of trees down supposed to have people here for labor day, so gona spend time on cleanup.

Got my generator all set up and ready to go to assure that I didn't need it.

We were lucky to just catch some rain and wind here. Nothing destructive.

Between Irene to the east and a high pressure to the west, it was to be a windy out of the north day Sun. Turned out to be a nice sunny day with a slight breeze.

It blew over a tree behind me in a barrier strip. The ground was was soaked from the heavy rainfall and the high wind helped it along. We were without power for about 15 hours. It raind about 5.3" from Irene. Lots of limbs to pickup. Hal

Powers been out 18 hours and counting, lost some metal off a barn and a few trees. Ran the generator to cool the deep freeze and make some toast.

biggest single problem was the lane the cows use to get the the pastures. they stayed in last night. lots of corn and trees down. flooding is worse to the north and east of us.

So far so good, but I do have a culvert to check, probably all right because the creeks empties into a pond first, slowing it down, ground is soaked, garden and pear trees did ok, did not lose much produce at all. Minor leak in the basement, which went directly into a floor drain, this house has a bone dry basement, only something like this prolonged heavy rain is what it would take.
