Belarus tractors

I'm planning on looking at a Belarus 525A tractor with loader.
Anyone have any experiences with these tractors? What should I
look for or lookout for. Some people swear by them other curse
them.. so what's the real story.. Parts, filters, clutches, etc, etc,..
Thanks

This part of the country they are about worthless. As a dealer can,t trade for them because no one will buy them.. No parts support and won,t start when the weather is the least bit cool. Suppose they sell somewhere but not in Tennessee

Seems like there is no dealers or parts support anymore. They were very crued and have a low resale value.

I don't know the whole story but a friend of mine worked for Belarus and has one. First, these tractors are no longer imported into the U.S. bucause U.S. volumes could not justify emissions development. I guess this is the bad news.
The good news is tractors in the U.S. are still being supported from a parts standpoint. I'd suggest you find a dealer that supports these tractors and talk to him.
Further good news, the Belarus is a very fuel efficient tractor and starts unaided in cold temps.
Operator comfort and ease of use of controls is average. No big deal if you are going to use it for an hour or two at a time but you will not be comfortable at the end of a long day.
If you are going to put a loader on this tractor it must run to the rear axle for a support point. Loaders that mount to the transmission will break the tractor in half. Many are in salvage yards (cheap parts) due to mis-mounting of loaders.
My friend's tractor had a combination 12/24Volt electrical system. He rewired it to a straight 12V system. Most of these reactors have front wheel assist, a very nice feature.
You can expect to see minor oil leaks, owners seem to just live with them.
The price on the tractor tou are going to look at should be good vs anything else in its HP class.
This is about all I know but it is a good starting point.

Belarus are good tractors I have a umz 8244 82 horse. Very similar to Belarus both made in russia. I have never had any problems they are simple to work on no high tech equipment to go wrong all washable filters on mine. Mine starts fine in winter -10 no problem in northern ny. They made them rugged because there are many remote areas in russia that they use them in.

Up here in Michigan either. We had a dealer for them just south of me for a while. He sold the byjeebers out of those things for a while because they were so cheap. Guys right up the road bought one, don't remember the model, but it was somewhere around 90 horse,4 wheel drive, cab without air. They had an auction when the tractor was just 2 years old. The dealer bought it back for a whopping $6000.

You'll be fine if it never breaks.Poor engineering.Clumsy and awkward.People buy this stuff for the price. Ever hear the old saying "you get what you pay for".Sh*t is cheap unless you buy it in a bag at Home Depot.

We had a short lived Belarus dealer in my hometown years ago and another dealer in a town 26 miles west of us, they sold lots of those tractors in a package deal that came with a trailer, lift pole, bush-hog, disc harrow, and a scraper blade. None of the tractors held up for any length of time and I see them sitting in the woods and weeds everywhere now. If I see a Belarus for sale anywhere now it seems they just sit there rusting away as nobody gives it a second glance. My neighbor had a good running one earlier this year for sale but it sat out by the road for at least 4 or 5 months before he sold it and he had to keep coming down on the price to get rid of it. A good running old Ford, Deere, or an International sells easier and seems to run forever in my neck of the woods.

belarus is just an export name that 7 different companies sell under.
I have had good luck with the 500-800 series. The 250 series seem to break cranks. The Kharkov articulated tractor is far inferior to the Kirovets. They are all crude but easy to work on and easy to get parts.
I understand the newest 800 derived versions could pass for a modern US tractor.
