Thought I knew what I was talking about...

I always thought: A,C 113 c.i.d. Super A,C 123c.i.d. But lately I've been seeing A and C tractors with hydraulics. How can this be, 113 has no provision for hydraulic pump. Somebody give me a quick rundown of tractors and their power plants?

you've got it right, its after 60 or 70 years there's just been alot of transplanting going on so you see a bit of everything.

39 H's never had alternators and electronic ignition either, but you see more of those at tractor shows than you do magnetos and generators.

Early super A's and the C both had the c113 engine and could have hydraulics. The c123 came out with the introduction of the super C, the super A had been out for about 4 years by then.

Sometimes I think there must be a contest as to who
can do the most hideous 12V conversion. Saw an M
once with a notch cut in the hood (with a torch) to accommodate the alternator. On purpose! Thanks for
the info. Fritz
